Image-based watermark
I am trying to create a watermark in C1 20 and I am getting less than ideal results.
I created a watermark image in Affinity Photo; I tried two different formats (PDF and PNG). My problem exists with both formats.
When I try to use the Image watermark, I am unable to place the watermark in a specific location on the image. When I select the “Horizontal” slider, I am able to move the watermark from the left (not the left margin) to mid-way across the image. When I select “Vertical”, I am able to move the watermark up and down in a narrow range around the horizontal center of the image. And to further add to my confusion, when I move the Scale slider, the image starts small in the upper right and then as I increase the scale (move the slider to the right), the image increases in size and moves down and to the left.
If I select “Text” I am able to place the watermark in any location that I desire, e.g., lower right.

I'm not sure why you are seeing what you describe in terms of positional limitations but then there are a number of possibilities and I would probably recommend png over PDF. (No idea if that makes a difference.)
In th Cursor Tools many there is are three options for the Pan tool (Hand icon) one of which allows you to drag a watermark arounf the screen rather than having to use the vertical and horizontal sliders for positioning. If you have the Process Recipe tool open on its "Watermark" tab you will be able to see what adjustments the drag activity is making.
Does that help you in any way to get the result you desire?
ETA: Is your "Image" size somewhat larger than the content within it that you wish to use as the Watermark content?
The total size of the Watermark image is a constraining factor and must be contained mainly within the image area or crop area. A little overlap seems to be allowed.
