When you say the newest Capture One, do you mean the update that was released today? It is supposed to address an issue with Open with/Edit with.

    Milan,

Go to the Preferences / plugins tab and make sure you do not see any errors in either of the two panels. If there are no errors, then I believe that you have discovered the squirrelly way that C1 determines what to populate the edit/open with list. And the solution that I have found recently is a Windows setting, not a C1 setting.

Here is what I found and how I fixed my version of C1 so that I could see all of the programs I wanted. This page is in Spanish, but you can translate it easy enough. It talks about Nik Collection, but it can be applied to any application on Windows that you want to show up in the edit with list.

Milan, you said you installed C1 on a new computer running Windows 10. I would suspect that your new computer is missing all of the Windows open with associations and that indeed the link I sent in my previous email will solve your problem on this new computer.

Looks like it is working with the latest update, 13.1.2.35

    Yeah.

Not for me half the plugins are still missing when I went back to 13.1.0 they all appeared so it looks like a C1 problem not a windows association problem. Back to the drawing board.

    Mark,

What approach did you employ for installing the update?

Replace what you were working with or install alongside the previous release in a new folder?

I just downloaded the update and executed it on top of the prior version. However I did follow the assoc file instructions on the website mentioned and they now appear. A bit of a messed up way to get them but none the less they are there now. Interesting to note though that 13.1.0 showed them all from the get go, 13.1.2.35 missed half of them from the get go. I had to assoc a file with the missing app before it appeared in 13.1.2 35.

I have 3 different ways to add plugins into the list for edit with. They all came from posts on this board over time. They did work for me, but as new releases with Windows and C1, they stopped working. All but the last one in the link above. That one works perfectly for me. The same one Mark just used.

I have simillar problems. I was some month ago told by the C1 support to downgrade to an earlier version of C1, to get the "Edit with" and "Open with" list populated i C1. This was due to some bug, which was gong to be addressed in an soon upcoming release. After downgrading I got the lists "Open/Edit With" populated with all of my software, and it worked to open image through tat lists.

Now, I upgraded to the latest release, hoping everything would work. But the list are still populated with my external software already, but I get a message that the selected image is not possible to open for editing with external software possibly "due to some licensing issues" or somethung. So still something wrong with C1 i suppose! :(

Well, it seems that the same story continues... OpenWith now works again for some users and no longer works for others. This is not only boring but also ridiculous.

I have never seen such a stubborn attitude from a development team. It's obvious that the Windows registry scanning approach they are using just cannot work for everyone. Why insist ? The solution is known and requested by many users since years : give a us an external editors manager working like the one in Lightroom.

I totally agree. I called out to C1 team again, and they claim "the issue was solved in build 13.1.2. PLease make sure you have gone through the activation procedure correct and try again". Hope they addresse the bug over again, and now solve it for everyone. They had one build, the one before 13.1.1 (13.1.0 ???), where it worked for many users, including me. Then in 13.1.1 the functionality was totally broken. And in 13.1.2 it seems to work for some people on the planet. Please C1 team, atleast revert to the way it worked in 13.1.0.

Same issue with me on windows 10,   Plugins do not appear .

So I gave up and created a load of short cuts and banged them in a directory which is I browse to when I select Edit with!

So fed up  with this issue  (and was told to raise an issue AGAIN! )

I agree with all the comments here, I have back all my plugins using the assoc steps as outlined earlier but what a messy way to do this. 13.1.2.35 should have fixed this so folks would not have to mess around. Upon a ticket I submitted they still wanted me for remove files. See comment below from support. I do not intend to do this until I move to a new system in 2021.

"These issues should've been fixed in version 13.1.2, therefore in order to make sure Capture One is working properly, I would kindly ask you to remove all Capture One versions and delete the libraries (make some backups of your settings/folders at this point if needed) as shown in the guide below, restart your machine and install Capture One 13.1.2 again:"

Hi, open C1 like a administrator. I think there is a permission issue. It worked for me.
