Healed area visible in exported JPG; not in C1

Maybe the heal layer was clicked off upon publishing?

… and make sure that layers are included in the recipe.

Thanks for the suggestions.  However, it seems to me that if either of these were the problem the object that I removed in the "healing" would be visible.  It's not.  The problem is that the replaced pixels simply don't blend well in the JPG (they do in C1).  It's as if the source pixels were drawn from a different place in the picture in the JPG.

Among the many things going wrong in the later version,
the healing tool is quite buggy BUT it is possible to edit
the performed heal by selecting it and move it to an-
    other
     source.

Oh yes, I've done that many times.  But the point is, it already looks great in C1 (first screen grab).  But the exported version does not (second screen grab).  The object I "healed" was to remove a tower.  It is gone but the replacement simply doesn't blend well in the exported version.

I have some smaller spots removed in this photo with the healing brush as well.  They exported just fine.

I expect my best course of action is to simply start over with this photo.

As an experiment - what happens if you turn off  the "Use Hardware Acceleration" option (for output) in the Preferences?

@SFA -- Thanks for the suggestion.  No change.

I finally created a new version and repeated the work.  That exported OK.

    Interesting but very strange.

It might be a one-off situation. Possibly related to something not quite in synch within the edit instructions data for the original edit records.

It might be worth using the "Submit a request" option to report this to the C1 support team for thier future reference in case it recurs or others also report it.

It might be a tricky thing to analyse with a number of occurrences to draw on.

I have had a similar experience, and I wondered what i did differently the second time. Pure speculation, but I felt that the edit or layer order played a role. C1 is supposed to do exactly the same regardless of edit/layer order, but who knows.

It may not be related, but will see if I can find a tutorial where I believe David Grover improved a heal result by changing the order of operations, if I remember this correctly. It was about removing a boat on water.

@SFA / Grant -- Thanks for the suggestion of logging a ticket.  I've done so.

@OddS I wondered, too, if order made a difference.  I had three layers:  adjustment, healing, background.  I tried swapping the first two and exporting again.  No difference.  Not sure if that's equivalent to actually DOING them in a different order.

For the one that worked I did do them in a different order -- adjustments first, then healing.

Hi, I'm Joining this discussion to say that as for today (capture one 21) with MacBook M1 Chip I'm facing the same problem in a kind of odd twist:

    - The healed area are showing up (as not healed) only if I export Full Res file Jpg (and I don't mean "export original file"). All the other color adjustment and Layers are Kept, but the healing brush is gone.

Tried many different solution but without luck.

The strage thing is that if I export with other "Recipes", for example a recipe optimized for instagram, the export is looking right as well as the healed area is correctly covered.

    Any suggestions?

    Ty

Seeing the same behavior as Francesco B on my M1 MBP. Had an image with two layers, one a healing layer to remove a simple small spot and another to darken some areas. When exporting, tried various ways, the healing layer's changes were never included. I ended up having to just export and then heal the spot in photoshop.

Hey Den, I’ve managed to fix this behavior by disabling the hardware accelerator. Go to: capture one21 >preferences> General tab> use openCL set this to “Never”

    Hi There!

I too had the issue that with the export process everything EXCEPT the Healing Mask would be processed!
After reading the hint with disabling the hardware accelerator I tried it out and it WORKED!!!

    Thanks a lot, cheers :)

Thanks! I'll give it a go. Overall I like how well it runs under rosetta, but I'm really looking forward to the native M1 version.

I am having the same problem. Healed area isn't "healed" in an export.

When I disable OpenCL for processing, healed areas are correctly exported to JPG. I also have an M1 macbook pro running Big Sur, no idea if this specific platform is the problem. Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon!

p.s. of course I don't remember which images I healed, so I guess I have to re-export all of them... is there a way to find/filter images that have been healed within a session or catalog?

I got here because I just had exactly the same problem on my M1 Mac.

I was able to get the workaround by disabling hardware acceleration for Processing.  To repeat, the workaround is Preference > General > Processing = Never.  Display can be set to Auto to use hardware acceleration.  Also note that you have to use Process Recipes to get the workaround to work.  I tried both plain-old Export vs my Process Recipe.  The former still had the issue but the latter fixed it.

While having a viable workaround is an escape valve, this is a pretty SERIOUS bug for a professional photo editing software!  It has existed for over half a year now and to have no follow up and no fix for this long is very bad.
