Everything is UTD but Capture One will not recognize my camera(s)

Howdy,

I'm shooting Nikon D810 tethered with a UTD Mac 2014.
All the versions of everything are up to date: OS, Capture One, Nikon firmware. There are no cards in the camera.

The same set up works when using Lightroom's tethered capture; however, Capture one can't connect to the camera.

I have tried:

all the USB ports

disconnecting all devices from all the ports (leaving only the tethering cable)

different cables

separately powered USB port

uninstalling cap1 and reinstalling

capture one>preferences>capture>only having "Nikon" selected

Any other suggestions?  I feel like I have tried it all.

  Most likely, you denied earlier CO the required rights.

  How to reset the requests for access:

  tccutil reset SystemPolicyRemovableVolumes com.captureone.captureone13
  tccutil reset Photos com.captureone.captureone13
