Where is the fastest location to run your C1 sessions from?
Can someone explain to me, where would ultimately be the fastest location to work on C1 sessions.
Am I correct in assuming the best place would be to partition my booting drive into 2 drives, 1 for OSX and system, and the other to use as a clients "drive" and store all my current work?
Reason I ask is I will soon upgrade to the new Mac Pro, and I want to set my C1 clients drive up in the fastest working location possible.
I'm currently working on the old silver tower Mac Pro, with a SSD as the boot drive, and another SSD in a bay as my "clients" drive.
Cheers.
Brett.

Hey Bret,
I experience the fastest operations when the session is on the main
SSD in the prescribed folder even when working on images being on
peripheral drives.0 -
As a general rule, for most stills and video apps, I keep the app on my local hard drive (SSD on my Mac Pro too), and I hook up external drives as fast as I can get to house my media I'm working on....
And for applications that allow it, I also have a fast as possible, but reasonable sized SSD drive external that I use as a caching drive for apps that use that.
This way, you cut down on the IO load of having all on one drive....the app on one drive, working files on another and cache on a 3rd one if the application uses it.
If you can go SSD on all of them they yes that will help too, but just partitioning one SSD drive isn't going to do that much for you as that you will still be hitting the same physical hard drive.
