Evening out wide angle polarising filter inconsistency

Oops, I accidentally used my polarizing filter on this fairly wide angled shot, and thus it's blue sky enhancement is uneven across the sky. I see that the color / skin uniformity option is a possible way to increase consistency, but having played for a while today with it, I'm struggling to get a good result. 

Any other options / approaches to this problem?

  it should also be easy fixable with a gradient, but the skin tool is for sure also an option.
