Problem with shortcuts
I have a problem with using the keyboard shortcuts. When I tap y (before - after) or 5 (for 5 stars) or any other shortcut it sometimes writes it into to the search field which is very annoying. Is this a bug or is something wrong with my settings?
Does anyone else had the same problem before?

Input from the keyboard goes to whatever user interface item was last selected. To further confuse things user interface items can be selected by a keyboard shortcut. Example: cmd-F will select the search field. Once the search field is selected all input goes into that field.
I usually run into this when keywording images. I forget that the keyword entry field is selected and then wonder why my keyboard shortcuts are being ignored. Another place where this drives me crazy is when playing with curves. The last curve point modified remains selected and using arrows or cmd-arrows moves the curve point instead of selecting the last image. In most cases hitting the esc key will deselect the UI item. Alas, that doesn't seem to work with respect to curve points.

If the keyboard input does not go where would like it to go, click on a thumbnail first, and enter your key. This prevents that your input is entered into an adjustment field or search field.
Shortcuts with a key-modifier like Shift-, Command-, or Control should always work. No need to click on a thumbnail first
