Capture One 12 - Overlay

Hi Folks, I have an image in the viewer and have an overlay over the top. (Just a background scene & wanting to add a border area as such so used overlay). Even when I process or export that image, the overlay is not part of the image. Is it primarily for viewing on screen when tether shooting only ?? Im a bit confused.

  Thanks Don, yes I had seen this, and to tell the truth I really just misinterpreted a few words. Does all make sense. Thanks once again
