Capture One 11 - crashing and lockups

I've been using C1 for a few years now. It crashes frequently and locks up frequently. I've sent in probably well over a hundred crash reports over the years.  The photo editing itself seems to work well most of the time. That part seldom causes problems. The rest of the product - navigating folders, creating and using smart folders, searching the catalog and folders, renaming files and folders, etc - pretty much anything other than making edits to a photo - has the potential to crash C1. Searching, especially, is a great way to lock up C1 - I've done it with searches more times than I can possible count.

I also keep a list of bugs I've run into over time - things that can be repro'ed easily and/or are consistent problems - and the list goes on for several pages.

A few days ago, I renamed a couple of folders from within C1. The last folder I renamed caused C1 to go belly up. When I restarted C1, all of the images in the catalog from that folder were flagged as missing ("?" icon on images) and I have tried fixing it by renaming te directory back to the original name, tried restoring the catalog from backup, etc. Nothing worked and I have to re-create my edits.

So, my question is WTF? What is wrong with C1? Why does it crash and lock up so often? Why is it SO easy to upset it? It seems.like the photo editing is great and the rest of the product is excrement. It seems like some people have no problems with C1 while others, like me, have constant problems. Is it a fundamental problem with the catalog design (it's just a SQL Lite database). Is the code poorly (nor not at all) designed? Is the code poorly (or not) tested?

With the help of the previous TS people, I've created new catalogs from scratch and migrated everything over (we did this several times), we've done countless repairs (via C1) of the catalog, and they had their "gurus" (such as it is) look into the problem. I've ftp'ed them numerous copies of my catalogs.

Has anyone else had problems like this and found a way to fix them permanently? I'm about to flush C1 for something else - almost antyhing else.
