Nikon Z6 ii and Z7 ii
LoggedPlease add RAW support for the new Nikon models, Z6 ii and Z7 ii to Capture One Pro v20. I am awaiting delivery of my Z7 ii. I am a member of a local photography group and during our last Zoom meeting, 6 members had purchased Z6 ii cameras and were disappointed to find that Capture One did not support the RAW files from this model. Adobe has recently added Z6 ii and Z7 ii RAW support, so some members are interested in whether Capture One will do the same.

I would add this to the features request section.

Hi Rick,
Thank you for this camera request.
We have some similar requests for supporting these camera models. I have also forwarded your request to the corresponding thread here.

I warmly add my request to Rick's one.
Please upgrade Capture One 20 to enable it to read Nikon Z6 II raw and correctly tether the camera.
I really hope you do not ask to buy a new license ... !!!!!!
Thank you
Antonio Berni

Still no support for Z6II & Z7II with C1v20?

It is most unlikely that it will be added to version 20. We expect version 22 quite soon!

I suppose they definitely decided not to allow capture One 20 users to tether Nikon z6II.
I had to buy the new license of Capture One 21.
I consider this policy deeply unfair.1 -
Absolutamente injusto.
Han perdido un cliente al no admitir las nuevas Nikon Z para la versión 20.
Con las actualizaciones de Ligthroom, vuelvo a Adobe, que trata mejor a sus clientes en este sentido. Hasta nunca.1 -
With Lightroom also, you only get support for the Z6ii and Z7ii in recent versions, and to have them you have to keep paying the subscription and updating to the newer versions. What is unfair in Capture One in comparison?

It is strange that work which is done to improve software and to enable something which was not available before is sometimes considered as "it should be free of cost for me". Maybe because software is not as tangible like a camera. But the people working for the software company are real, tangible people, and they get real tangible (or digital :-) invoices which they must pay for their living with real money.

Are you kidding me ?
I have to BUY a new version of C1 to read Nikon Z7ll files !!!0 -
You would have to have a recent version of Lightroom or Photoshop (which you would have had to pay for with your subscription) to be able to use those apps with the files too. It's not particularly a Capture One thing that new cameras may entail an upgrade to the software.

David,
No you don't have to get a new version of the software. Just use the software that Nikon provides.
Now if Nikon had opted to support an Express version of C1, as Sony and Fuji have done, you might have had a solution of some sort for your Z7II files, though with some limitations.
I think the main issues around software maintenance costs and cost recovery - however they may be presented - have been covered in previous posts. The timing of product releases and their availability for assessment by software vendors can sometimes work well for some people and sometimes not so well.

David, Did you get an upgrade from Z7 to Z7ii for free?
