List of recently used files
At the moment I installed Capture One Beta the list of recently used files in context menu of C1 icon in the taskline didn't work correctly any more.

The list items always show the correct path where the catalog is located. But whenever I click on on catalog in the list there is an error shown like "The selected element is not available. Maybe it was moved, deleted..."
I have had this problem last time before as I installed version 20 beside version 12. I could solve this problem at this time but cannot remember how. ;)
Could anybody help?
Regards Ernst

You could go to Windows Explorer find the catalogue you want to open and then on the DB/Catalogue file perforn a right click and then Open With

...then navigate to the version of C1 that you want to use to open the catalogue. From there C1 should remember where the catalogue is the next time you open it.

Ernst,
There are individual setting used for each version of the software so that changing between versions should not mess up the "last known" information about the previous one.
This is especially relevant when testing.
Hopefully you tested on copies of catalogs not your "real" live catalog(s)?

Thanks at both of you for reply.
@ Mark Witherington:
Have you tested your procedure? In my case it does not work. Whichever Capture One I choose (directly from the folder it is installed) C1 21 Beta pops up. I was more than astonished when I tried.
@SFA:
I think this is a classical missanderstanding. ;) Once more, more detailed:
- I have some catalogs (V20) attached in this list (upper area) and some others just use ones in the part of the list below the attached ones.
- I had C1 V21 beta installed for a short time. BUT:
- We talk ONLY about opening with C1 V20. No Beta installed. The installation was long before and is deinstalled.
- Now I wont to start one of the list items (catalogs). Right click on the item of C1 (V20) and selecting one of the list items there.
- The error says that the catalogs are not at their place. Theese catalogs have never been moved, and if I open the catalogs with the help of C1 (file menu) it will appear in the same list with the same path and will not work either.
I hope this makes clearer what I meant.
And yes, of course I have tested beta version with copies of catalogs with different names than the original catalogs at another path. The problem appeared when installing beta version before using this beta. As I mentioned in first posting this was the same problem I had when I installed version 20 /(release) beside of version 12. At that time I solved the problem by myself (therefore I know there is a way to fix it) but have forgotten how.
Kind regards

Ernst,
I am surprised, as you are, that a previously deleted program should appear.
Hopefully you will remember what you did last time you had the problem.

@SFA: Ujujuj. Yes I know what I was doing. And I did a lot the last days to fix. Mainly concentrating on my problem mentioned in the first post.
I have tested this issue with and without beta installed. As I tested Marks way beta was installed. It does not solve my problem when beta is deinstalled. I need not go this way as - when beta is deinstalled - Windows "knows" that Capture One has to start Capture One catalog. But even when this is not my problem, I had to test if it would solve my pronlem with list of recent used catalogs. It does not.
But as I tested around i git aware of this peculiar behaviour I described above. You can ignore even when its very strange. It has nothing to do with the problem described in the start post in this thread.
As I answered your post I had beta deinstalled (and will keep it deinstalled from now on). And I wanted to tell you that after first installation of beta my issue exists and that it has no effect wheter one or two versions of C1 is installed. It remains exactly the same behaviour:
From the installation of second version of Capture One the list of recent used catalogs will not work. Even when deleting all items of the list and trying to produce new items it has the exactly same problem.
I think the only thing different on my Windows and your is that programs, apps, whatever are not installed on system drive C: but on a separate partition D: Maybe a point, should not make a difference.
Kind regards

Ernst, Yes I have tested the procedure and yes it certainly works for me, I would not have suggested it otherwise.

Thanks Mark! I wonder what happens on my machine... (But it is not directly affect my issue I think.

Just to say it: The list of recently opened catalogs from the file menu works as it should.:
