Bought the license, have the key, can not start Capture one
It asks for to open my profile, but my computer has the password. Pressed forgot password, but it doesn't send me an e-mail with password. While license information was delivered on that e-mail address. Now I don't know how to activate license.

I did the pre-purchase of captureone 21in October and to this day the support can not with me install the current version.
More than five requests to support and nothing that guides me works. Display images of the screens that appear and nothing. I am disappointed with the experienced support staff. My email pedroaugusto.com@gmail.com1 -
I have been having the same frustrating experience with each and every update. Just like PEDRO AUGUSTO BENEVIDES MACHADO, got myself the pre-purchase of captureone 21 and now it is giving me "Could not activate because activation profile is incorrect." Using Run Diagnostics give me this:
Check 01: Success
Check 02: BFEBFBFF000306F2 /
Check 03: 1821801944
Check 04: OK
Check 05: 236
Check 06: success0 -
Go to the main website and login using the same email and password to check.
Also don't display your email here as it is a public forum.

I just got it to work. The reason for it not working the first time around is that I used a different email address when buying the update.
I wish the error would have indicated that. It would have really helped!

I got it working. I had many orders. But only one fell through, because it came with a license key. But then I had the problem that my computer stored the password to my Capture One profile. And this profile is essential for the whole installation process of a licensed Capture One product. We, finally I had a list of stored passwords, also of my Capture One profile, of Windows 10, with an eye icon, for each password. I could unlock these with my Windows 10 pin code, or finger print. Then I used the password for the installation process. And that worked.
I had an unclear response when I tried to pay with credit card. My banking app credit card payment confirmation, was not in sync with the payment process of Capture One. I have contacted the bank, and although everything seemed to be alright with my credit card and the transaction data, the transaction didn't make it to the status payed at Capture One.
So I tried iDeal, for a payment. Because I know that is a more clear way of electronic digital payments, than credit card. That worked.
So basically I had two hurdles, credit card payment process did not work, but my credit card works fine. I checked that at my bank's help desk.
And then I had this password to my Capture One profile problem. I solved that myself. Very confusing though, that at some processes, the password can be done by the operating system, but at the Profile opening, within the license installation process, that's not the case. Then you have to fill in the password by hand. That's confusing to people. And you have to know, I am a former software engineer. This was for the average person quite confusing. And yes, some severe Dutch, well, more Hollands moved the air over here.
So your Capture One Profile is vital, I guess. You have to know two things about it, e-mail address, as sort of username to your profile. And of course the profile's password. And if you have also a license key, then it is easy peasy.
I have it working though, Capture One 21.0 -
Stef,
Do you mean that you are using a browser to store login user names and passwords?
If so it is very easy to completely forget passwords due to lack of use (unless one always uses the same password for everything!).
If, at any point, one has changed a password or user name, or accidentally automatically saved an incorrect combination in the browser's login records things can become very difficult to resolve successfully because such situations are not always obvious. To make them obvious would reduce the level of security available, even if only be a little.
If one has different details for, say, the corporate web site login for license management and the ancillary login in for, say, the forum comment access that may also be somewhat confusing. As could any saved cookie data based on old information that may still be lying around in one's system.
None of that is so bad if one needs to make regular use of the different logins. However if usage is rare it is very easy to forget the precise and correct details - or so I find sometimes. Other people's brains maybe work differently and recall everything.
I vividly remember a business meeting many years ago where the company we were visiting had arranged for one of their specialist people to come and answer questions. To provide the answers to the question and demonstrate the way things worked he needed to access several different systems within his corporate network, each of which used at least 3 level access security and system generated passwords of something like 16 or 20 digits. All numeric as I recall, no alpha at that time. We probably accessed 5 or 6 of those systems on the day, not all of which were areas he regularly accessed. He seemed go be able to recall and enter all of the codes accurately as soon as they were required. I thought that was impressive - and realised it was very unlikely that I would ever be likely to achieve the same success rate.
Whether he was still able to remember so much as is required for Internet use these days, if all of it was based on system generated IDs and passwords, I very much doubt.
I keep notes. Even that is not always a guaranteed solution. :(
