Better control of clone / healing brush size etc.

Control of the radii via right mouse hold, hold of Alt-/Ctrl-Key plus horizontal/vertical mouse movement quite awkward, shaky, unintuitive, complex. I want exactly what it does (control size etc without obscuring the image by a dialogue window) not how. How about this: Having chosen clone or heal we have a cursor like now (two concentric circles for size etc) fix the position of the brush on a specific key stroke (just a stroke, not having to hold it). In that moment, (a) the mouse cursor should be freely movable, with repositioning the brush on mouse click (b) the two circles should be augmented by handles which I can grab with the mouse cursor to adjust their respective radius. The key stroke that started this interaction should then finish it (alternatively or iadditionally: escape key).
