Speed Edit buttons for layers

All right,

 

While I love working with the speed edit system, I have a small"ish" feature request:

Ability to select the working layer, for example:

F1 key: background

F2 key: layer 1

F3 key: layer 2

etc.

 

Should be easy, right? :) Thanks in advance.

  Are you already aware that you can set shortcuts for navigating in layers?

  Ok first of all, thanks.

  I was NOT aware because I tried to look first into keyboard shortcuts and for some reason these are not under the Layer section. So I guess my request can be modified to move these shortcuts under the right heading.
