Can't type or past a forward slash when importing
Hi,
First post here. I tried import file and use the token to structure the import into different folders sorted out by dates but when I try to type a forward slash into Capture One 21 on my Mac I can't type it. Nothing happens. But I can type a forward slash everywhere else but in Capture One. I can copy/paste too, but can't paste one in Capture One (I tried that as a work around).
Does anyone know what could be the issue?
I'm trying to move away from Lightroom but this doesn't start well for me!
Best regards!

Mathieu: You do not need to use slashes at all to import. You can access an extensive list off tokens, including date in a myriad of formats in a drop down in the naming sector. You will find your images nicely arranged by date for you in the library column after import. But, first do read the online guide. Please. Doing so will not only save you time but allow you to get work done. Good luck.

Thanks Michael for your response.
After having watched a Capture One tutorial I understood that you needed forward back slashes between tokens in order to have a folder created for these tokens. Without them, I only get filenames that will have the tokens added in the name.

Names are names. Slash characters do not apply.
Using tokens for locations is a separate function.

In this video from Capture One, at 17:40ish, it seems clear to me that if a forward slash is placed between tokens when importing, it create subfolders with the respective token used.

What am I missing??

Michael, here is what the online guide says too:
“ When creating hierarchical sub-folders, add a forward/backward slash (Mac/Windows) without spaces in between each new folder name or token used. Each forward/ backward slash adds a subfolder to the preceding text entry or token. (Folder structures created in the Location Sub Folder Tokens dialog can be saved as a user preset. Click on Save User Preset..., add a name and select Save).”0 -
Snooze: I hope this time I have understood what you are trying to accomplish. I first ticked the box "subfolder" and then placing a forward slash became possible. This allows any hierarchical structure I think you are trying to provide to the imported original images. Im not sure the subfolder box as an important item is emphasized in the video. Hope this helps.
