Paint solid colour

Please can someone help me work out how to paint a solid colour.  Basically wanting to extend a black background.

I have used the cloning tool, but that also includes the rest of the picture that was selected, just moving it to a different position in the photograph?

If I have a large areas to fill with black or a selected colour this doesn't work?

  hi, i like the idea, but i think this is very useful for shootings with backdrops. in c1 you have to do cloning, as you know, and/or use masks to make the background clean. it’s probabily easier and faster to do such things in photoshop. i don‘t know an easy way only inside c1 yet to cut out objects and place them on a clean backgrounds.
