Clearly something is amiss. Most of us don't have this problem. 20 minutes for 150 previews is not how it usually works. So there must be something about your set-up, your installation, or your computer that is causing it, and I would assume there is a cure that the techies could help you track down. Have you tried contacting Support for help? (Use the Submit a Request link at the top right of this page.)

Well, every other software I have generates previews much faster so no, I do not think it is my set-up or my computer. Also even on this forum I do not seem to be the only one with this problem.

Anyway, thank You for Your help, maybe I will try Support once more.

May I ask how fast C1 generates previews for You? I know a lot depends on the computer etc, but roughly. 2 minutes for 150 previews, five minutes?

To check my system's preview generation speed, I just imported a batch of 200 images into a new session. The import+preview process took right at five minutes, though the process included an automatic levels adjustment on each image, and I don't know how such adjustments affect preview generation speed. At most, though, my system created 200 previews in five minutes.

There can be many reasons for slow proxy generation

Where are the RAW files (external/internal, SSD/HDD)
    Where are your session/catalog (External/internal SSD/HDD)
    RAW files (20MP, 50MP, 150MP)
    Proxy size (800px, 1920, 2540,5k)

And btw, you are assuming that proxies in LR, On1, Capture One are the same

I'm not suggesting there is something wrong with your computer as such - just that perhaps there is some combination of other software, or set-up, or something, that means it isn't playing nicely with Capture One.

In case it helps, I just did a trial - set up a new catalog, and imported a folder of 121 images. Start to finish, from when I clicked the button to Import All, to when the last preview had been generated, was 52 seconds. (This is a MacBook Pro 2020, with internal SSD and 32 GB of RAM.)

So that makes me think that something is amiss.
