Is it possible to have lens correction default to "manufacturer profile" for all photographs?
So when you open a photograph in Capture One, the default lens profile applied is the one with the name of the lens. However, what I've noted so far is that the "manufacturer profile" profile with the slider set at 100 gives you the right and accurate correction all the time. This is not the case when the profile with the lens name is selected (which is the default behavior), in my experience.
As an example, a Sony camera with the 28mm f/2 lens. With the default lens correction profile and slider set at 100, it crops in way too much. With "manufacturer profile" selected and slider at 100, it matches the correction applied by Sony's bundled free raw converter and also the jpg.
I just want the program to apply the "manufacturer profile" as the default instead of me having to do it every time myself.

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to make Capture One default to using the manufacturer's profile for all lens corrections.PupilPath and then batch copy/apply to all photos, but if I ever need to fully reset a photo, this will be undone.

Has anyone found a way to do this?
I am having the same issue and I find it very inconvenient.
In fact Capture One applies its own lens profile for some lenses and "Manufacturer Profile" for others which is very confusing.

Not all lenses come with a manufacturer profile stored in the image file - it depends on the manufacturer doing that at all, or doing it for the particular model of camera or of lens. So Capture One can't use Manufacturer Profile in every instance. Their explanation is that if there is a satisfactory profile built in to the images they can use that and not have to create their own profile.

In my case the manufacturer profile is available in the image file - when Capture One import with its own lens profile I can still select the "Manufacturer Profile" post import and get a RAW image that is identical to the in-camera JPEG.
I am confused why it behaves this way and find it pretty inconvenient.
