Bug Filled Version
Hello,
I just downloaded and installed the newest version (Capture One 2021). I created a new catalog and then created a new album in the catalog. I then imported about 400 raw Nikon pictures into the new album. When I select a photo and attempt to make any changes, the picture does not change. When I shutdown Capture One, and then try to bring it back up I get a message stating "an instance is already running". Only thing I can do is kill it in task manager. I am running Windows 10 with all updates on a Dell 9510 with all Dell updates. I just ran a complete set of diagnostics (Dell) and no problems found. When I do the same setup with Nikon NX Studio, everything works perfectly and NX Studio shuts down like it should. Any ideas?

One thing I would do is open task Manager and watch if C1 unloads completely when shutting it down and if not looking at other process that C1 uses find the culprit. If all else fails uninstall C1, reboot the computer, making sure there is no virus or malware protection running re-install the app.
