Compare images with Capture in different library locations

I have a reference photo that I imported into capture, and then a whole list of photos that I also imported. They were not shot in my session.

I am trying to use the one reference photo and then cycle through all the other folders making sure that the background color is consistent etc. I then mark images that need adjustments and continue working on them.

Is there a way to select the first reference photo as a "compare" (I know how to do that) but then switch to images in a different folder but still keep my "compare" up?

  Best way to aggregate images from 2 collections, is to make an album and drop everything relevant into it.
