Custom Style Brushes leaving a mask trail

Whenever I'm using any brush, it automatically starts to draw a mask when my mouse leaves the slider and moves to the area that I'm brushing. Normally I would just go back and erase the line from the slider area to the portion of the image being modified but I don't think this helpful if you have a lot of brushwork to do.

  Have you had an opportunity to test it out with another mouse? If so, did you get the same results?

  I tried it with the same mouse this morning but it worked fine this time. Maybe it was an isolated event?
