Import from lightroom failing to import even basic adjustements
Latest Capture One 21 on latest OsX Big Sur
Catalog from lightroom 6.14
I import the catalog following the guidelines and tutorials on capture one site
Everything goes well, but when I look at my NEF files in CO21, all adjustements are lost. The basic exposure and white balance was not imported
Has anyone any idea or any clue ? These are hundreds of work hours I don't want to loose.
Just took two screen shot where you can see the problem . The first is in lightroom. Exposure +0.35
Second in Capture one after import
No adjustement, WB wrong and exposure +0
Any clue ?

Lightroom and Capture One use different processing engines. Many (most?) adjustment in either of the apps will be meaningless to the other app. Other than metadata changes the things that Capture One claim are supported are Orientation, Rotation, Crop, White Balance, Saturation, Contrast, and Exposure. Note that Highlights, Shadows, Blacks, and Whites are not imported along with a bunch of other settings.
When I moved from Aperture to Lightroom I exported edited images I wanted to save. Mostly I threw away my edits, feeling that if I needed to re-visit an image I'd edit it again. After playing with Capture One's ability to import LR catalogs I made the same decision when switching to Capture One. I threw away most edits and re-edit when I have the need.
I've convinced myself this is a good thing because editing skills, poor as they are, are still better than they were in the past. I can rationalize with the best!

I agree with you Marco.
Plus, in reality, if one has an image that one wishes to preserve with a specific edit it is safer, even within the use of a later version of the original application that created it, to have saved a universally acceptable "master " version of the edit for archival purposes. A Tiff or jpg perhaps. They seem to be the most resilient file types so far for image archival that resists the march of what we humans tend to call "progress".

I understand what you say but Capture One claims it can import basic adjustements and even exposition, brightness and contrast are not imported. To be more precise, I've tried with a few more LR catalogs and sometimes they're imported, sometime not (for files in the same catalog)
The claim to import basic adjustements is false or the tool is bugged
