Session Images Missing from Albums after Rename

Variants of this problem have come up a couple of times recently. The problem is that you moved things in the Finder instead of from within C1. C1 isn’t as tightly integrated with Finder as it could/should be, so it’s not aware of actions done in the Finder. You’ll need to Locate the “missing” files from within C1 or else go into Finder, put the moved files back in their original locations, and then redo the moves from within C1.

I moved/renamed in Sytem Folders inside C1, which would lead me to believe that C1 could track the changes. How else could I have done it?

Perhaps I misunderstood you when you talked about “reorganizing on the system folder”, which sounds like you weren’t working within C1.

You’re working with a session, and as far as I know, sessions use a specific folder structure within the session “file”. For example, C1 would look for originals in the “Originals” folder. Unlike catalogs (where you can fluidly reorganize anything from within C1), sessions lack the flexibility. What you could do is (if C1 can find the originals) move the source files back to where C1 expects to find them. If C1 no longer sees the images, then try using Finder to move them back to the expected location.

It sounds like if you want the flexibility to do what you did, then perhaps consider using managed catalogs in the future. Managed catalogs contain everything, like a session does, but they have the flexibility of allowing you to create subfolders and other constructs that sessions don’t.
