Duplicate Images - Each Image also has an identical "offline" image

Each image in a particular folder containing over 700 images has a duplicate "offline" image. When I check the source file on my hard disk by using "locate file" for the offline image there is only one version of the file. Can I delete the "offline images" showing in the Capture One thumbnail viewer (over 350 of them) without losing the source file?
