Update 15.1 slows things down on Macbook Air M1

I went back to version 15.0 again, which opens pictures much faster. A session I startet from an external SSD drive with the previous version 15.0 runs much smoother that a session with version 15.1 from the internal SSD.

  I've found the speed to be ok with 15.1 but it seems reluctant to release memory. After a while memory usage builds to amber in the activity app and never goes down. Close the app and reopen and it drops right back down again. Most other apps seem to release used memory but C1 Pro doesn't.

  Edit - I'm using a MacBook Pro M1 2021 10/16/16 16gb 1TB

  I am new to Apple and blown away by the speed of the M1 processor. Even Lightroom is fast. Not so Capture One in version 15.1. No problem! I ab back to version 15.0 again and everything works fine.

  If 15 is working great for you then that would be the way to go. 

  When using Merge etc, I can see the use of the memory go up but once C1 has finished it, the level of pressure on the memory remains. As you mentioned, the machine remains very fast throughout but when it hits higher amber amounts... while still not showing any swap being used and more than 3gb of memory remaining, I tend to close C1 and re-open. 

  As I say, apps like PS and Motion 5 etc use ram but then release it back so you see it go up and down... with C1 it just goes up 😆

  The new Apple silicon thought is amazing... jobs that used to sound like a Boeing 747 coming in to land (intel i7 Macs with 32gb ram) now don't even get the fans going at all with a 16gb 10/16/16 chip. Very good indeed... although I now have to turn the heating up more in the office in winter as I've lost my cpu radiator!
