Import Session into catalog - reusing the existing files (i.e. previews)

When importing a session into a catalog, the previews (and other cached items?) are re-calculated.

Given the preview size is the same in preferences (and maybe other relevant options like rendering intent?), a simple copy (and rename if necessary) of the (preview) files should be sufficient. This saves a lot of computing power and the completion of the import process is finished much earlier.

  Of course it would be even better if we could have a synchronized catalog which is referencing the session files and reflecting every change on the session images, even instantly or at least by a button click.

  I am talking session edits to catalog, I don't even dream vice versa catalog edits to sessions.
