I do agree, missing HDR Panorama would require to switch back to Lightroom for these images.

As I have no use for these features I really hope that they are an optional add-on for the software in the same way that, for instance, Style Sets are optional purchases.

I would want to use the panorams at least, and given the increased fees in recent times I hope it is included. What else justifies the higher prices if not new (real) features...

I would rather not have to buy functionality I am unlikely to use beyond core functions or the support of more than one operating system.

I would prefer that the software in itself is powerful enough to virtually eliminate the need for HDR (other than for those who are fans of very powerful HDR artistry) and leaves Panorama stitching to applications with many years of successful development in their history.

There would be 2 exceptions to that line of thinking.

Firstly if the developers were proposing to embed already proven technology via sublicensing or similar. And by doing so could be sure of success and minimize development costs.

Secondly if the developers had found some magic methodology that produced results spectacularly ahead of anyone else's results for little or no development cost.

If the exercise delivers anything less than a class leading approach and overpoweringly good output compared to what is currently available many of the requesters may be disappointed.

If they are not, then C1 will probably just end up drifting into the standard philosophies of other Adobe retail  "competitors". A lot of features on the tick list to attract punters, maybe less focus on the underlying details.

But that is speculation, less about the developers and more about how influencers in market places might end up with a choice of several almost identical products with the same strengths and weaknesses. In effect - choices of supplier but no real choices of functionality or methodology.

Of course, it may be that that is exactly what the consumers want, especially for a "mature" market with, dare I suggest, a relatively large number of "mature" users hanging around for the short term.
