Moving session and catalog
I guess I wasn't careful when I created this session: C1 copied all my raw files to the 'Pictures' folder instead of working with the files on a remote but attached volume. I also discovered that the C1 catalog is there as well.
Can I just move the XMP sidecar files to the remote volume with the original raw files, then delete the files in 'Pictures'?
Likewise, can I simply move the catalog, then delete the original in the 'Pictures' folder?
I assume edits will be preserved, but how can I direct C1 to the catalog and files? I am also a Lr user and it can be really fussy and troublesome when it comes to moving files.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure your idea will work (maybe someone else knows). What I'd do is:
1. Move the files on your remote volume into a new folder. This is a precaution.
2. In Capture One, move the files that are in your Pictures folder over to the remote volume. This will ensure that Capture One knows that the adjustments and Raws are on that volume, and they'll no longer be stored in Pictures.
3. Move the files from the folder in Step 1 to wherever you had Capture One copy the files in Step 2. Capture One won't care that you overwrite existing files with others that have the same filename, and copying this way will ensure that all of your files end up being where you think they should be, assuming the same directory as where you just moved the errant files to.
Alternatively, have Capture One move all the files in Pictures to the remote volume and tell it to replace existing images with the same filenames.
In any case, I'd do all moves from within Capture One to minimize the chances of having problems.
