fixed export function in 14.4.
Hello everybody,
the new export function in the update 14.3 has caused a great contradiction among users.
Now with version 14.4. a corrected export function is released and it is surprisingly quiet in the forum. For me it seems to have the possibilities as before, nevertheless I do not dare to update 14.4. yet.
What are your experiences with the corrected export function?
I am curious about your experiences.

For me it works like the old Process workflow, but now every instance of "Process" has been replaced with "Export". So far the only niggling issue I have is that the tool's name display is limited to 32 characters, so long recipe names aren't completely shown (regardless of the tool's width) and you have to scroll in the name field to see the name. Otherwise it's fine.
A pleasant surprise for me was that a really irritating panning bug seems to have been fixed. The bug (confirmed by another user I know c c) was that after zooming using the Spacebar-double-click method, there'd be a system beep as long as you tried panning by holding the Spacebar and moving the mouse or Wacom pen. The bug was introduced at the end of v20 and persisted until 21.4.
BTW: the Export method introduced in 21.3 is still there as well.

Thomas,
Whether the changes were or were not a real problem for users was very much dependent on the workflows user had established and wished to continue to use without any thought of adaptation.
To me, the changes made a lot of sense EXCEPT that some flexibility of use had been lost due to the elimination of 2 fields available as tokens. The latest release seems to fix that annoyance and further enhance the options available to streamlining one's workflow for regular and repeated activities.
Anyone who habitually used EXPORT rather than OUTPUT PROCESS may have a few more things to consider about their workflow preferences but I think Output Process users will mostly understand why the options were revised as they were (other than the loss of the 2 token fields, now re-instated in a batter way with 14.4).
But really this is not a case of 14.3 BAD 14.4 GOOD. How you feel about either of them will depend on what you currently do, whether the available process can handle it and whether you feel that there is no possibility that your existing process can be changed in any way.
