Image storage
Hi all
Not directly related to Capture One, so I hope it's ok to post this here.
I currently have around 11TB of images spanning over two external hard drives (WD my books) and an additional external hard drive as a backup. My problem is, importing images from memory cards using capture one import is painfully slow and then moving images around folders (I use catalogs not sessions) is also very slow.
Before long, I will need some more storage. So my question is, what are you all using for storing your images and are you happy with the speed performance?
Thank you

Ideally you want to use SSD for images that need to be imported & worked on and than finished image sets are moved to HDD archive.
But also, Capture One is slow with large catalogs.

How many images do you have in your biggest catalog? I assume you have the catalog(s) on your internal harddrive or SSD, which is advisable.
For raw file storage I use internal SSDs. For backup I use a slow NAS with harddrives connected via 1Gb network, suitable for backups but not as the main storage as it is too slow.
External SSDs via thunderbolt would probably be a good choice, as well as a NAS in a fast Raid setup, provided your computer and the NAS would be equipped with 100Gb network adapters.
