CO22 does not start on Mac OSX 10.13
Hi,
I cannot start CO22 on Mac OSX 10.13 (High Sierra) although the system requirements suggests it.
Cora
pre-upgrade from CO21

No.
MacOS10.15 is the minimum required.
So I requested a refund of my pre-order.It is the 1st time C1 skips two OS versions for one release (C21 was still running on OS10.13) - a clear indication that Intel-based Macs are no longer their target.
And of course, it was not announced before release

What a deception. I thought High Sierra V10.13.6 was/would be supported. Sadly not. The excitment is gone. My computer is becoming obsolete and frankly it is a shame of consumerism. Okay, okay , it is a Mac 2010 and somehow I understand that. However it does perform perfectly well, fast, flawless and it still looks brand new. The age of electronics is nonesense still. A book will last a 1000 year. A computer 10 years ou so... well well... Keep the faith and have a nice day !

Doesn't matter - it just shows that C1 is no longer interested in supporting Intel Macs.
Only M1 and iPad Pro.
Therefore the skip from 10.13 to 10.15 as minima.
And no Metal support integration for old Intels.0 -
Really I don't understand that move. I wonder how many thousands and thousands of users on High Sierra are disappointed this morning...

I was on Mojave - and I am bitterly disappointed too.
To the point that I requested a refund.0 -
@Claude
You are misinformed and spreading misinformation. C1-22 does, indeed, run on Intel Macs. Here are the system requirements:
Apple® Macintosh® minimum requirements
Intel® Core™ i3 (1st generation)
8 GB of RAM
10 GB of free hard disk space
Calibrated monitor with 1280x800, 24-bit resolution at 96dpi
macOS 10.15, macOS 11*, macOS 12
* MacOS 11 is supported for builds up to 11.60 -
@Robert,
Please read my posts again, carefully.
I am not spreading misinformation. I say that C22 does not run on MacOS prior to MacOS 10.15 (you confirm it), and does not support Metal for Intel, something that had been promised in May 2021.
I also say that it is the first time that C22 skips two OS versions for one release (C21 was running on OS10.13, so it could be expected that this version would run on OS10.14.
Further, I draw the logical conclusion that Mac Intels are no longer the priority for C1, that now focuses only on M1 and iPad Pro for its developments.
All is factual.

I say that C22 does not run on MacOS prior to MacOS 15
Please get the details right. It hurts your case, otherwise. As written it is quite easy to prove that statement incorrect.
Look,

Look, Capture One 22 running version 12.0.1 on an intel iMac. macOS 12 is prior to MacOS 15.
Yeah, I know you meant version 10.15 instead of 15. But using the wrong identifier in multiple posts only makes you look careless to those who know. My guess is that it is confusing to those who might not know.
Finally, someone has reported working on the latest version of macOS 10.14. However, they were on an M1 Mac.

You are right for the shortcuts, Marco.
Writing OS15 instead of OS10.15 is indeed incorrect.
I edited the posts accordingly.And yes, there is one report of C22 running on Mojave, even on an Intel, but I won't do that, as it is no guarantee that it will keep going that way. We all know that C1 devs are not always accurate when it comes to MacOS (remember the non-signed copy recently ?)

@Claude
Indeed, your reference to OS 15 was confusing to a lot of us. Capture One 22 works on OS 10.15 through 12.
