Bug: not all pictures shown at startup
Hello,
Sometimes when I start Capture One not all images are displayed. There is no filter applied, only when I switch to another collection and back again, all images are displayed.
Here in the example only nine of the twenty-six images are displayed
I had this bug with C20 too, now im using C22

Is it possible that the set of images you see are the ones that were somehow specifically filtered and selected the last time you used that Collection? Or something that might have influenced that Collection?
C1, vis the dynamically maintained User.config file(s) attempt to return a user to the "last known state" at several levels.
This may or may not be helpful at that point!
In effect changing to another collection and back again clears those previous settings and acts as a refresh. Or at least that is what seemed to happen when I checked for some similar unexpected functional features.

What happens if you clear that C1 search box as shown in your screen shot?

I can confirm the same behaviour on startup of C1 v22 Fujifilm. When selecting an(other) album sometimes the counter will for instance state "1 of 3 images selected" but only 1 image is shown. When switching modes (eg grid mode to list mode) the missing images are suddenly shown.
