Try another uninstall, afterwards removing also the files that get left behind:

I've followed the instructions in the link your provided. Still no luck. The splash screen locks up and doesn't advance. I've noticed on the attempts to reinstall; the shortcut icons are not being produced. I also can't find the program when I use the Windows button apps list. The only way I find it is to either navigate to the directory to start it, or search for the app.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

I've rebooted before reinstalling. If I don't clean the registry beforehand even the reboot gets hung up. I really don't have a clue how to get past this problem, and it is starting to cost me time and money. I really need a fix for this soon. I submitted a ticket yesterday, but haven't heard back.

Have you checked the Log files to see if anything in them provides any clues?

Also the Windows monitoring tools to see what they offer about the processes?

I've looked through the log files. I'm afraid it looks all Greek to me.

I just found out today, that for some reason the computer won't stop shutting down. The screen goes blank after I shut down normally. But when I turn it back on, it comes back on saying "shutting down" and gets stuck there. I can only get it to shut down by pressing the off button...This is really getting strange. Now Windows 10 seems to have gotten in on the acting up...

I have the same problem with Capture One 22 (15.1.2.3) and no problems with Windows. See also this thread: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4406040187805-Update-15-1-1?page=1#community_comment_4415849893533.

I still had CaptureOne22.Win.15.0.0.exe in my Downloads folder. That doesn't appear to be available from Capture One anymore. Same problem now. Could be something changed with Windows and Capture One hasn't caught up yet.

2 months and no reply.  I only see "show the world" and it stays there.

    Bram,

This is a User to user forum not technical support. Presumably others with the problem have either abandoned trying to find a fix or have found a solution but not posted here.

Are you using a shortcut from the desktop? If so have you tried skipping the shortcut and going straight to the program?

Check if the Controlled Folder Access feature (Windows 10) is enabled and is blocking Capture One from accessing files in certain directories.   You can click on the Windows Start Logo and type "Controlled Folder Access" and then click on the item to open the system preferences.   If enabled, you can attempt to start Capture One and then click on the Block History which will shows all the History of any apps being blocked while trying to access a Protected folder.  The most recent block action would be related to Capture One if it is indeed being blocked.
