Capture One 22 express (for Sony) keeps freezing and crashing

The software keeps hanging on exports and sometimes crashes. When I cancel the operation and close the software, then try to reopen the message says it's already running. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but does not help. I don't think it's getting fully uninstalled.

  Disable the hardware acceleration for Processing in Settings.

  I don't see a 'Settings' menu. I see a 'Preferences' menu which has no settings for hardware acceleration.
