If you only want to use Sony raw files with C1 then the Sony version is the cheaper alternative

That's the only differnence. You won't getter better or different results with the Sony version.

The camera preview is a small resolution jpgs which resides inside the arw file (at least if you only shoot raw, if you shoot both raw and jpg then possibly the camera shows the jpg file, I don't know this detail), the point is that the camera preview is no better than the Sony jpg.

There is probably something which you are doing "wrong" but without more detailed information and maybe screenshot it is hard to say what.

Are you using any in-camera Creative Styles with your out of camera jpegs?

I understand that the preview is a jpeg. The jpeg preview looks much better then the jpeg imported. I usually shoot just raw but recently been shooting raw and jpeg because I just haven’t been able to do much with the raw images. Jpegs haven’t been much better. I’m sure it’s some I’m missing with a setting in either CO or in camera because I just switched from a Sony A7R3 to the A1 and nothing has changed. I have used any Creative Styles. When shot with the Nikon D800 I would choose the same Picture Profile in the editing software as was set in the camera which gave me a great starting point to start editing from.
Is there recommended presets that should be used in CO? I need to learn more about settings in camera for the Creative look or Picture profiles

What do your Sony in-camera jpegs look like in the Windows "Photos" viewer app?

RAW is unprocessed - why shoot raw if you like processed JPEG. Make style or preset with tone curve, more contrast, sharpening etc.
