File Size DNG HDR? Capture 22

My Nikon D800 produces NEF/RAW Files of about 40MB. When i create a DNG HDR out of 3 NEF/RAW i get a DNG HDR about 206MB. Can that be correct?

    How many bits per pixel in the DNG HDR? I suppose 24 or even 32? This would be about 2x the bits per pixel in the original RAW. Then you have to apply another 3x factor because NEF has only one channel per pixel, but after demosaicing you get three (RGB). Hence having about 6x the original size doesn't sound strange.

    Thx Fabrizio!  As an old Nikon Capture NX2 user i never came across DNG before and in this world NEF was biggest file system i saw so far. Surprising for me..
