Agreed. I believe Affinity Photo for macos has some support for features in this area: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuMHg1wzWzA . Though, I would've preferred to use Capture One for this.

    ˆthis.

That would be a good opportunity for C1 to take the lead on Adobe PS/LR.

Oops…looks like Adobe Lightroom just took the lead on C1! But hey, at least C1 is catching up to Adobe in the area of playing licensing games.

    Hello Doug,

Not sure what you’re referring to? Did Adobe launched XDR support recently?

Unfortunately Capture One is not even in the FoV.

Capture One has really been behind on delivery.

HDR processing of RAW imagery with export to 10 bit HEIF is a natural way to create natural looking HDR imagery, rather than the garish fake HDR exported to 8 bit JPEG.

Tens of Thousands of $$ of hardware being held up by cheap ($200/yr) software.

$200 doesn’t even cover the cost of coffee required to stay awake late while attempting to shoehorn a colorful dynamic range scene into a shoebox of a color- and light- space.

well well well, just spent some time editing and exporting some photos in both Jpeg xl and AVIF in Camera Raw. Pretty pleased with the UX and the expended histogram.
Now if ppl at C1 could copy paste it and add HEIC export, I’d jump on the subscription train!
Now, seeing the lack of interest for this thread… I’m likely switching back to Lightroom.

Yep. Switching would be justified. It is that big a thing.

Unfortunately, Capture One’s annual licensing scheme insulates them from feeling the need to push innovation.

If there was a ‘per session’ fee paid, then we’d see some real competition!
