Identify the proper picker tool

I use curves and color editor during my workflow and the picker for both tools is identical.  It would be nice if there was some visual way to identify the picker, so that I don't use the incorrect picker for what I'm trying to do.  I don't know if other tools are similar, but a color difference, an icon difference, something to differentiate would be useful.
