Clone Tool

With all the improvements and additions to this software, why is the clone so bad or is it just me? I find it totally useless and have to take my image to a free software to do my cloning. Why is that and do other people find this?

  It would help if you described what you find so bad with the tool. For me, it works as I expect: simply copying pixels from the source to the target.

  Or do you mean the Heal tool? That one took me a little while to master, and it still doesn't blend very well if, for example, you're trying to heal a dark target area with a much lighter source.

  Have you tried the healing tool instead? Frankly, I rarely use the clone tool anymore, the healing tool usually works in most situations. Only when that fails do I have to resort to cloning, which requires more precision and patience.
