C1 22 very slow on 8K screen
Hi,
I am using a Dell 8k screen. C1 is crawling when opening, loading thumbnails or showing images. When I change the screen resolution to 4k, everything becomes almost instantaneous, and it does not look like the time difference is proportionate to the difference in the amount of data required, so I am wondering whether there are any config settings I would have to set up a bit differently. I am using an i7 with 16GB RAM and an NVMe 4 SSD, NVIDIA 2070 Super.
A couple of observations:
- C1 never uses more than about 3GB of RAM, although about 7GB are completely unused. Maybe not enough cache? Any config setting to change that? I could not find anything.
- The largest previews I can select are 5120px wide. Maybe that's not sufficient, and the computer always goes to the RAW file. However, that does not seem consistent with the issues accessing the thumb nails, and I have the issue also if I reduce the width of the viewer window to half of the screen.
- C1 never uses more than 50% CPU, and the GPU is idling at 5% utilization (which is weird when loading images - anything to get a picture on screen and applying settings should be well-suited for using the GPU?)
There may be a bug or a configuration setting which does not quite work for an 8k screen. Is there anything I can do, or maybe which C1 can do to address the issue?
Any help?
