Cannot open catalogs with 15.3 version of Capture One Pro

There seems to be a bug with the latest version of Capture One Pro (15.3) released yesterday: I'm unable to open my catalogs created with the previous version. The catalogs keep loading but nothing happens even half an hour later. I tried to uninstall the latest version and instal the previous one, but my catalogs cannot be opened anylonger: a message tells me the catalog is only compatible with version 15.3 of the software. What can I do?

  I have/ had troubles starting catalogs due to some database reading error since i installed 15.3 

  Deleted /moved the settings folder: 

  C:\Users\chris\AppData\Local\CaptureOne 

  Capture One will recreate it with defaults upon first start. I then moved the styles50 folder back to the newly created so retain my presets. Had to re-configures the rest though but it seems to be working now.

  Thank you for your workflow.

  CaptureOne V15.3 still works with old catalogs / database.

  I would like to add to your post.
  
  

  1. I renamed the original folder "C:\Users\name_of_user\AppData\Local\CaptureOne" to "...\CaptureOne_OLD"
     (The "AppData" folder is invisible by default,
     Open the "Explorer" and open "Options\View\",
     Look at "Advanced settings", scroll down to "Hidden files and folders" and enable visibility)
     
     
  2. I started CaptureOne. CaptureOne then re-creates the "..\CaptureOne" folder
     
     
  3. I closed CaptureOne
     
     
  4. I copied some settings as follows:

  (Be careful and make a backup copy before changing!)

  • Export-settings from folder "...\CaptureOne_OLD\Recipe142" to "...\CaptureOne\Recipe143"
    (only my edit settings / files!)
    
    
  • Workspace-settings from folder "...\CaptureOne_OLD\Workspace130" to "...\CaptureOne\Workspace130"
    (only my edit settings / files!)
    
    
  • Styles from folder "...\CaptureOne_OLD\Styles50" to "...\CaptureOne\Styles50"
    
    
  • CustomCommands from folder "...\CaptureOne_OLD\CustomCommands" to "...\CaptureOne\CustomCommands"
    (only my edit settings / files!)
    
    
  • KeywordLibraries from folder "...\CaptureOne_OLD\KeywordLibraries" to "...\CaptureOne\KeywordLibraries"
    (only my edit settings / files!)
