Connecting to the Internet

I purchased a year's subscription to 2022.  Do I have to remain connected to the net to use Capture One now? At least Windows Pro lets me postpone updates for a month now.  What is the benefit of being tethered to you all the time?

  I am on an outright purchase not a subscription, but my understanding was that Capture One needs to connect to check your subscription at least once every 30 days.
