Trouble editing black & white film images imported from jpg files created with Epson V750 scanner

Anyone? I'm stumped. Have read everything and found nothing.

I've been scanning my film using Epson V750 scanner for over a year now. I used to have intermittent problems editing jpg files from scans, at which point I would convert to HEIC files and continue. Now I cannot scan my Black & White film scanned images in COne22, jpg or HEIC

Is it me? (I suspect). Help if you can, please.

  Don't forget that C1 only recognizes rgb files.

  Have you slipped into greyscale by mistake?
