Filter by sharpeness
To support the culling process, it would be nice if C1 could create, based on the focus mask info, some kind of KPI / value that allows me to filter for "sharp" images vs blurry ones. The filter should be adjustable to allow fine tuning.

Two comments on this idea.
- The new culling tool only uses the embedded jpg in raw files, but my understanding is that the focus mask has to use the raw data. So whether it is technically possible, I don't know.
- How would the proposed feature assess sharpness? How would it distinguish between how much of the image was sharp, and whether the right parts of the image were sharp? (For instance an out of focus portrait shot might have most of the background sharp, so a high percentage of the area of the shot, but the face not in focus.) Perhaps the idea needs a bit more development.

I find the idea to be intriguing. I think in order for it to work, Capture One would need strong subject detection. There would still be problems with it - for example, with facial recognition, would multiple faces with some blurring represent a group photo with some people out of focus, or an individual standing before a crowd? But it is an interesting idea. Manually checking sharpness is one way I choose one photo over another, so if the program could help with that, it would save me some time.
