Upgrades 22 to 23

My college did an update from 22 to 23 for free. Why do I have to pay for an update and he get it for free? I have the same Capture One Pro software so what's de difference.

  Are you on a subscription or on a purchased licence? One of the advantages of being on a subscription is that you get each update as it comes along. One of the disadvantages is that you have to keep paying, instead of just paying once.
