Replace Color in Layer
This is so basic, that I am almost embarrassed to ask, but I cannot fine anything in the tutorials. I want to use the Color Picker to replace a color in a Layer. I have the layer created with a mask as I want, but I cannot figure how to do sample a color from another portion of the image and paste it into the mask are of the layer. In this case, I want to paste the sky onto an unwanted portion of the image.

It is not quite clear what it is that you are trying to do.
If you want to, you can use the clone tool or the heal tool to copy one part of the image to another, though it may not produce a good result for your needs.
Also you could, if you wanted, change the colour of an object - for instance turn a red car into a blue car, though it is a bit of a clunky process and it is not easy to exactly match a colour.
If you say more about what you want to do we may be able to suggest something. And perhaps a screen shot of the image you are trying to work on would help.

What I was trying to do was to fill in a mask layer with a color picked from my sky, I think I'm just using the wrong tool. I used a photo editor, created a rectangle and just filled the rectangle. Then I used a clone brush and tidied things up. Thanks for the help!

Yes, that's the kind of thing that a pixel editor of some kind (Affinity Photo, Photoshop, etc) can do and Capture One can't. Also, it's worth realising that "layers" in Capture One are NOT the same kind of thing at all as "layers" in a pixel editor.

Many thanks to all who replied. I ended up using Affinity Photo, created a rectangle, used the Color Picker to select the color in the picture I wanted and all I had to do was some Clone tune up of the edges. Capture One is a fantastic program but is not readily suited to picking a color from the photo and applying it to a mask. Just finding the right tool for the job. Thanks again.
