processing to black and white problems

If I turne an image in black and white, the image appears as different grey blocks in explorer. As long as I proces in colour there is no problem. And also if I use the desaturation slider to get rid of all the colours there is no problem. But the moment I use turn in black and white, there is this problem. 

I realy hope you can help me.

  Lets see an example. It's pointless to discuss image quality problems without an image to look at.
