Ability to increase canvas size

I'm looking for the ability to increase the canvas size in order to fill the additional space. For instance, using the Keystone tool, I often find more of the image outside the rectangular crop area than I would like and would like the ability to fill in additional area to extend the crop. CaptureOne already leaves extended black areas outside the croppable areas of a stitched image - shown in black for this very purpose - I'm looking for the same capability while using the Keystone tool.

  There is an option "Crop outside image" in the crop tool which does this. However you cannot impaint that area e.g. with the healing or cloning brush, probably this should be the feature request (?), or do you want to even extend the image area beyond that?

  Thanks, I've never seen the option - only visible when right clicking during crop. However, I fail to see the use of it. If the area outside the image can't be painted, what's the point?

  Setting the canvas larger (user definable) than the extent of the image could be one part of the request, making it paintable should be the other.

  TBH at the moment the same behaviour between the Keystone tool and the Stitching tool would suffice - that is leaving the area outside the image croppable and paintable.

  The point is to include as many real pixels as possible. Then export then impaint only the black area with PS, Affinity or any other pixel editor.

  See, if the crop is restricted to be wholly within the image area, e.g. after a rotation or keystone adjustment, then all 4 corners fall inside the image area and thus the crop is discarding real image pixels. With the option enabled you can widen the crop and thus cover real image pixels which you could not otherwise.

  I see what you're saying - yes that would provide the maximum amount of image data to an external tool - but I'm asking to not have to use an external tool when all of the fundamentals to support this are already in CaptureOne.
