I switched over a year ago and did not experience the problem you are encountering (Mac Pro 5,1, SSD, 10Gig RAM). What is your preference setting for Preview Image size?

Thank you for confirming that you have experienced the error message too.It has not been a real problem, primarily I was curious as to whether anybody else was experiencing it.

BTW, I meant to mention that I use smaller catalogs. Google Martin Bailey, he wrote a blog about coming over from LR and I seem to remember that had a problem with the size of his catalogs.
