I'd really love to just pop in and out of 100% as I'm quickly browsing (and deleting some) new thumbnails, rather than reach for the mouse and drag it around.

It would so much simpler to just select two or three Recents. That's how Aperture did it and I'm afraid I was spoiled by that.

Other apps seem to have that capability. Lightroom, for one: Tap and hold Z to zoom to 100%, release to return to the original scale. If I remember right, Aperture did something similar.
